Essential Job Functions

Will be expected to provide the Region with leadership and expert resources in effectively extending the reach, effectiveness, and results achieved by our growth strategies in the most culturally diverse market in the United States. Specifically, this individual is tasked with driving share of our video product, high-speed Internet, and home phone service, as well as ancillary products including in-language ethnic premium channels and a “one price” international long-distance calling plan, develop and implement well thought-through and well-researched plans geared to resonate with key segments, involve crafting messages, creative, tactics and offers that address the needs, attitudes and sensibilities of an extremely diverse set of constituencies, while also meeting the needs and challenges of our business, analyze our current marketing efforts to multicultural markets and identify opportunities to accelerate growth, identify high opportunity ethnic groups and define the strategic direction needed to acquire/retain new customers in each segment, develop fact-based and culturally-relevant plans to earn business and to promote customer loyalty and retention, create effective communication and marketing plans to connect with priority segments, explore and, as appropriate, develop alternative delivery and fulfillment channels, develop and set strategy to drive revenue growth for all multicultural marketing and product development efforts, motivate peers and other key stakeholders to achieve goals, highly-collaborative individual capable of working effectively with the rest of the Region's marketing team and other key stakeholders. Because this is a new position, this position will not initially have direct reports but will instead work within the constraints of the existing marketing group. On a going-forward basis this individual will be expected to size the opportunity, and to play a key role in articulating the business case for an expanded Multicultural team and this position is based in New York City.

Position Summary

 

Strategic Director is responsible for independently managing quantitative research projects from start to finish including hands-on data analysis and manipulation. Strategic Directors are expected to play a key role in project delivery, proposal writing and account development.

 

Candidates have the choice of working our of our office New York City office or at the company headquarters located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

- Design and propose research strategies and budgets and recommend and explain the benefits of specific quantitative methodologies.
- Conduct quantitative (segmentation and A&U studies) in an efficient, accurate, timely and skilled manner.
- Analyze and report research findings and make appropriate recommendations to the client.
- Contribute thoughts and opinions in a positive manner to the Cheskin project team and the company as a whole.
- Write and cost proposals using the Cheskin templates.
- Design appropriate study designs for a clients objectives.
- Develop questionnaires, establish sampling criteria, write tab plans and analyze quantitative data.
- Oversee field progress.

Requirements
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Undergraduate degree in statistics, marketing or psychology/sociology preferable
- Minimum of 10 years experience conducting quantitative research studies in a consumer-based environment, including hands-on data manipulation
- MS Office Expertise: proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced SPSS skills

Desirables
- Understanding of consumer behavior and strategic marketing
- Masters Degree or equivalent; social science, marketing or business preferable
- Experience in supply-side market research or similar experience with clients in a research or service-oriented environment.

MANAGER, MULTICULTURAL INITIATIVES

 

The primary responsibility of the Manager, Multicultural Initiatives is to develop programs, activities, relationships and processes that will assist individual Councils and the Girl Scout movement in increasing the awareness and valuing multiculturalism by reaching and engaging previously underserved markets of girls and adults.  She/he serves as a consultant and technical resource to Councils in targeting, reaching and recruiting and retaining girl members and adult volunteers in designated ethnic, cultural and racial markets.  

 

The Manager, Multicultural Initiatives works to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies and methodologies to identify, attract, recruit and retain girls and adult volunteers from emerging and/or underserved ethnic markets with strong emphasis within the Hispanic and/or Asian community.  She/he initiates relationships, makes public presentations, develops proposals, and seeks every opportunity to expand the visibility and attractiveness of the Girl Scout movement to the assigned ethnic and racial organizations and audiences.
